BigSurMagic : A Unique North Big Sur/South Carmel Highlands/ Property with Glorious Comfort & a Personalized Experience! We love living here and our aim is to delight every guest! We especially love hearing the ocean (it lulls us to sleep most nights), sea lions barking in the background and a pair of great horned owls and enjoying the wonderful views.

The unit is our Guest Quarters and is fully furnished as if it were somewhere WE would want to stay.

We personalize each visit to our guest’s preferences. We provide the initial week's groceries you need to make the breakfasts of your choice... in YOUR kitchen and on Your own schedule... and eating on the deck (bistro table and chairs) is always a wonderful option either at breakfast or during sunset. If you need anything at all such as a special pan to cook with just let us know and we will ensure you get what you need. Enjoy John's locally renown Pot de Creme au Chocolate Noir desserts... our special gift. Included with a stay at BigSurMagic are your deck, a garage and a washer/dryer as well as top of the line amenities including a waffle iron and cozy robes.

This is a place to be yourself and enjoy the natural wonders of our area as well as the thrills of Big Sur, Carmel, Monterey, Pebble Beach, etc. The daytime view includes the ocean and hills, hummingbirds, a great horned owl and the occasional red tail hawk or condor. We have sunsets into the ocean all year long and see the green flash several times a month. Nighttime is incredible as you go to sleep with the ocean quietly calming your body and mind. We routinely see a bobcat wandering through and other wildlife.

It is said that spending time here is like having been on a much longer vacation - the way body and mind can relax. One of the healthiest places I have ever been ... which is why we live here too.

As you might not know Big Sur is not a “town” but about 80 miles of incredible coast and we are incredible fortunately to be at the northern gateway. We are about 5 minutes south of Pt. Lobos. Being here you are very close (within 10-25 minutes) to Pfeiffer Big Sur Park, Carmel Center, Monterey, Pebble Beach, Carmel Valley wineries, the Monterey aquarium, Laguna Seca, shopping and restaurants such as the famous Highlands Inn. Salinas (Steinbeck territory) is about 40 minutes away. Big Sur valley is about 20+ minutes south of us The area is the home of Pfeiffer State Park and Beach, Molera Beach, Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, Point Sur light house, Post Ranch Inn and Ventana Inn and Spa Resort, Deetjen’s Big Sur Inn, Big Sur Bakery, etc..

We work at delighting our guests. We enjoy doing it and meeting really interesting and wonderful people over the years. We hope you will come and visit and return home relaxed and happy. And return again as many of our guests do. We now have a minimum 30+ day rental period due to local ordinances.
